A bowling ball on earth weighs 11 pounds and has a mass of 5 kilograms. The gravitational force on the moon is 1/6 of the gravitational force on Earth. What would the mass of the bowling ball be on the moon? A) 11 pounds B) 0.83kg C) 1.8 pounds D) 5 kg (I'm pretty sure its not A)

Respuesta :

D.) 5kg

This is a trick question. The mass of an object does not change based in location. However the weight of an object does change, this is because Weight = Mass × Gravity. Also mass is measured in kilograms and so the answer is 5 kg. So if you ever want to lose weight just go to the moon!
