we are given
x^2-4x+3=0
we don't need to use quadratc formula, we just factor into
(x-3)(x-1)=0
x=3 and 1
but if you want to use quadratic, ok

x^2-4x+3=0
a=1
b=-4
c=3

x=[tex] \frac{4+/- \sqrt{16-12} }{2} [/tex]
