First, convert 5 and 24/10 into a mixed fraction:

5 and 24/10 = 74/10

Now, divide 74/10 by 4:

74/10 ÷ 4 = 74/10 × 1/4
                = 74/40
                = 37/20
                = 1 and 17/20

(Remember that dividing requires you to reciprocate 4)
