2x + 9y = 0 (1st)
3x + 5y = 17 (2nd)

multiply (st) by 3 and (2nd) by 2

6x + 27y = 0 (1st)
6x + 10y = 34 (2nd)
----------------------------subtract
17y = -34
    y = -2

2x + 9y = 0
2x +9(-2) = 0
2x = 18
x = 9

answer
(9, -2)
